Stay away from school, the school will not resume now-Registrar

The Management of The Polytechnic Ibadan has assured the stake holders in the institution, particularly the students and their parents that the institution will soon reopen for student

A statement from the institution signed by The Registrar MRS MODUPE THERESA FAWALE disclosed that the student who were given mid-semester break on 4th April 2019 and billed to resume 10th April 2019 could not do so because the Management was fine tuning the logistics for their resumption.

The Management observed that there has not been ELECTRICITY supply by the IBDEC due to major electrical fault to the institution in the last three weeks which virtually makes resumption difficult has the institution cannot perpetually rely on Diesel generated electricity which in all ramifications will not provide sufficient electricity supply for the students.

The Management further observed that since student would commence their First Semester Examination almost immediately after resumption, every logistic to ensure their smooth stay has to be put in place.

However, students are still expected to stay away from the institution until management directs their resumption.

Management should do something to late Mobilization- Concerned Graduates

The concerned graduates of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has published a post for wide publicity over the failure of the management to mobilize them for NYSC.

The post published by the concerned students is as follow:

It's important to note that This Great citadel of knowledge has always been lacking behind in the Area of mobilization.

It is of this note that we write to express our dissatisfaction in the way fresh graduates of the institution are been treated.

Many of us have the ambition to further our education both in Nigeria and Abroad, but the late mobilization for the one year mandatory NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NYSC) has always jeopardize this ambition.

Furthermore, so many employment opportunities had been wasted due to unavailability of our certificates,
It's six months already since we wrote our final exams!

It is worth to note that due to one reason or the other the institution couldn't convocate for the 2018 graduates, it is of this note that we expected the institution to at least mobilize us for 2018 Batch A which never happened.

We are using this medium to appeal to the institution Authorities to come to our aid and rescue us from further time wasting.

Registration for BATCH B 2019 commences around May, the management should please set a deadline for the departments for our results to be ready nd so doing sent to the NYSC board to be uploaded to the senate list before Batch B registration commences.

If nothing is done within the necessary period of time, we would not hesitate to walk a peaceful protest within the campus.

SAY NO TO DOUBLE I.T( Industrial Training ) , we did one after our ND we can't afford another one before Going for service..

Long live TPI!
Long live oyo state!!
Long live Nigeria!!!

FORUM IS NOT A SECRET CULT AND WE DON'T BEHAVE LIKE TOUT - ASSOCIATION OF STUDENT FORUM

It come to our surprise when we started seeing some post online coming from Comr ADENIYI the Sports Director of NAPES and the Head Coach of FENG Female football team that it was ''Student Forum'' that stab him and injure some of his players during an ongoing QUEENS CUP on 03/04/2019 between FENG and FBCS.

We want to use this medium to inform the general public particularly all the students that all the post are blatant lies, in fact, we have to go through thorough investigation and we have found out that, it is the supporters of FENG that generate the whole issue by 'booing' the FBCS players earlier the second half of the match.

According to the eyewitness who claim to be anonymous said,''the matter arose at the second half of the match, when the FBCS team score a goal and the FENG supporters go against the decision of the referee and suddenly crowded the pitch including the Sport Director and interrupt the match and told their players to vacate the pitch that they are no more playing, this made the SUG Sport director to attend to them and discuss with them amicably but they remain adamant, since they did not concord with the SUG sport director they order the players to come back to the pitch for final whistle. After the match has officially come to an end the FENG supporters started shouting ''SOUTHERNER!!!'' and also intimidating the FBSCS players that,if they see any of the FBCS players at South campus they will harm the player, this statement aggrieved the FBCS supporters and they started agitating and reporting the statement to the school security that is on ground immediately.

''Forum'' did not know how the Sports Director is being harmed or injure and we are not on the ground to know how the fight or the issue erupted, we don't interfere into an unnecessary issue like that. How can ''Forum'' stab a student because of football competition, people should think about it. Forum members are not from one faculty of the school, we have members across the faculties including FENG and we are everywhere of the campus; North, middle belt and South campus.

We want to remind Comr ADENIYI on their first Match against FESSA when some of their supporters who happen to be Aye Fraternity which he is also a member, stab the President Of Urban and Regional Planning. Nobody agitates neither protest or cause unrest on the campus.

Comr ADENIYI should have followed due process for his protest before he started using his cult members terrorizing the school and disrupting the academic activities in the campus and outside the school, it is a shame on him as a comrade. We want the public to desist from such news that ''Forum'' are the mastermind of the stab of Comr. ADENIYI and the injuring of any students after the match.

FORUM is not a secret cult and we don't behave like a 'tout'. We have been working with the school security to maintain peace and tranquillity in the school and also protect the students outside the school. We know what is right and we don't want anybody to tarnish our reputation.FORUM has known to be a peacemaking organization and we have been maintaining that for years.

We urge Comr ADENIYI to never trespass to our boundary and talk to his co-cult members of Aye Fraternity to never disturb the peace of the school. We are not afraid of war, we decided not to stop his disruption activities since School Management did not give us go ahead, but if he tries to come for any students, we will make sure they are nab and handover to legal authority because we are not a coward.

We pray for all the students that attain injuries during the protest quick recovery and want all the students to remain calm and make sure they resume back to school after the mid-semester break; as the school is already working on perfect security in the campus.

''We urge the school authority to reinstate our STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT and work on ADEQUATE SECURITY IN THE SCHOOL'

GREAT FORUM!!!

Fees increment: NANS vows to shut down The Polytechnic Ibadan

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has threatened to shut down The Polytechnic Ibadan over the astronomical increase in tuition fees by management of the institution.

The Students Associaion (NANS) says in a statement jointly signed by its leadership, Mr. Adeyemi Azeez, NANS National PRO and Mr Adekitan Adebisi, NANS South-West Coordinator on Friday in Abuja.

It expressed displeasure over the increment noting that the poor had the right to be educated in the country.

“NANS condemned this in totality as we cannot continue to watch our fundamental rights being turned to a source of revenue by the anti-poor and anti-students government.

“NANS describes this increment at this trying period for civil servants as a deliberate attempt towards making the future of promising Nigerian students to become sudden academic dropouts.”

The leadership of NANS also alleged that the present administration by this increase was making education not affordable to the sons and daughters of the poor.

The association however, called on the government to reverse the school fees to status-quo to avoid industrial action.

“Failure to adhere to the above ultimatum, NANS national leadership shall mobilise en-mass for protest on Thursday, Jan. 10, and shut down activities in Oyo State.

“NANS hereby directs all students not to pay the school fees until NANS informs otherwise.”
